Eva Baltasar is a renowned Spanish poet and writer. She was born on August 26, 1978, and holds a bachelor's degree in Pedagogy from the University of Barcelona.

Baltasar has made significant contributions to poetry, with ten published books that have garnered numerous accolades, such as the 2008 Miquel de Palol, the 2010 Benet Ribas, and the 2015 Gabriel Ferrater awards. Her poetic work is often described as intimist, focusing on the body with philosophical and conceptual undertones. Permafrost is the first part of a trilogy that explores the voices of three distinct women grappling with the contradictions of their time. The second installment, Boulder, was published in 2020 and received the Òmnium Prize for the Best Novel of the Year 2020.
