Chade-Meng Tan, known informally as Meng, is an acclaimed author, philanthropist, speaker, and a former software engineer. His remarkable career began as one of Google's earliest engineers where he was instrumental in the development of Google's first mobile search service and played a crucial role in maintaining the company's search quality.
At the age of 45, Meng retired from Google with the unique title of "Jolly Good Fellow," a position that reflected his contributions to the company's culture, including greeting celebrities who visited the campus. His influence extended beyond his official duties as he co-founded the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute with Marc Lesser and served as co-chair of One Billion Acts of Peace, an initiative that has received eight Nobel Peace Prize nominations.
