Rebecca Makkai is an accomplished American novelist and short-story writer, widely recognized for her engaging and sophisticated works. A prolific author, Makkai has penned several novels including The Great Believers, The Borrower, and The Hundred-Year House, as well as the short story collection Music for Wartime. Her novel The Great Believers was met with critical acclaim, becoming a finalist for both the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award and winning numerous honors such as the ALA Carnegie Medal and the LA Times Book Prize.
