Zoya Pirzad

Zoya Pirzad (also spelled as Zoyā Pirzād) is a renowned Iranian-Armenian writer and novelist. Born in 1952 in Abadan, she is well-known for her literary contributions. Her mother is Iranian Armenian, and her father comes from a Russian background. She grew up in Tehran and is now married with two sons, Sasha and Shervin.

Pirzad is the author of the international bestseller Things We Left Unsaid, and her most recent collection of stories, The Bitter Taste of Persimmon, won the prize for Best Foreign Book of 2009 in France.
