Timothy Jacob Wise, born October 4, 1968American activist and writer known for his work on the topic of race.
He is a consultant who offers anti-racism lectures to various institutions. Tim Wise is recognized as one of the most prominent anti-racist writers and activists in the U.S., and has been dubbed the foremost white anti-racist intellectual in the nation.
Wise has delivered lectures in 46 states and at over 300 college campuses, including prestigious institutions such as Harvard, Stanford, Cal Tech, and the Law Schools at Yale, Columbia, Michigan, and Vanderbilt.
From 1999 to 2003, he served as an advisor to the Fisk University Race Relations Institute. In the early 1990s, he was the Associate Director of the Louisiana Coalition Against Racism and Nazism, a group credited with the political defeat of white nationalist David Duke.
Noted NYU professor and award-winning author, Robin D.G. Kelley, has described Wise's anti-racism efforts as revolutionary.
