Temple Grandin

Mary Temple Grandin is an American academic and ethologist. She is a prominent proponent of the humane treatment of livestock for slaughter and has authored more than 60 scientific papers on animal behavior. Grandin serves as a consultant to the livestock industry, offering advice on animal behavior and is also a well-known autism spokesperson.

Grandin is one of the first autistic individuals to document insights from her personal experiences with autism. She is a faculty member in Animal Sciences at the College of Agricultural Sciences, Colorado State University. In 2010, Time 100, an annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world, recognized her in the "Heroes" category. Her life was the subject of the acclaimed Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning biographical film "Temple Grandin."

Grandin has been an outspoken advocate for autism rights and the neurodiversity movement.
