Suzanne Collins is an American author and television writer, best known for her work in young adult literature. She gained widespread fame as the author of the The Hunger Games trilogy, a dystopian book series that has captivated millions of readers worldwide. In addition to this, she has penned the children's fantasy series The Underland Chronicles.
Born on August 10, 1962, Suzanne was the daughter of an Air Force officer and grew up in Connecticut, where she still resides.
Since 1991, Collins has been actively involved in writing for childrenโs television. She has contributed to several Nickelodeon shows, including the Emmy-nominated hits Clarissa Explains it All and The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo. For preschool viewers, she crafted numerous stories for the Emmy-nominated series Little Bear and Oswald. Additionally, she co-wrote the critically acclaimed Rankin/Bass Christmas special, Santa, Baby! Most recently, she served as the Head Writer for Scholastic Entertainmentโs Cliffordโs Puppy Days.
