Stephen Clarke

Stephen Clarke is a renowned author known for his satirical take on French culture. Born on October 15, 1958, Clarke has carved a niche for himself in both fiction and non-fiction genres. His breakthrough came in 2004 with the self-published comic novel A Year in the Merde, which humorously critiques contemporary French society. The success of this novel led to numerous sequels, including Dial M for Merde (2008), 1,000 Years of Annoying the French (2010), and Paris Revealed (2011).

Before becoming a full-time writer, Clarke worked as a journalist for a French press group for a decade. He currently resides in Paris, where he has a regular spot on French cable TV, offering amusing insights into the peculiarities of French life.
