Stephen Briggs

Stephen Briggs is a British writer known for his extensive work related to Terry Pratchett's comic fantasy Discworld. He was born in 1951.

Briggs co-designed the first Discworld map, The Streets of Ankh-Morpork, with Pratchett and artist Stephen Player in 1993. This was followed by The Discworld Mapp in 1995 and A Tourist Guide to Lancre in 1998, the latter painted by Paul Kidby.

He has adapted more than 20 of Pratchett's novels for the amateur stage, including titles such as Wyrd Sisters, Mort, Guards! Guards!, and many others with various publishers. Notably, his adaptations of Hogfather and Lords and Ladies were published in 2021.

Briggs is also known for his work on The Discworld Companion, an encyclopedia of the series, with several updated editions. In 2007, he published The Wit and Wisdom of Discworld, a collection of quotes from the series. Additionally, he collaborated on Discworld Diaries and Nanny Ogg's Cookbook.

Aside from writing, Briggs has recorded audiobook versions of several Discworld works, earning an Audie Award in 2004 for his audiobook of Monstrous Regiment.
