Sofi-Elina Oksanen is a renowned Finnish writer and playwright. Born on January 7, 1977, she has published six novels, with "Purge" gaining the widest international recognition. Her work has been translated into more than 40 languages and has sold over two million copies worldwide.
Oksanen is celebrated as the "Finnish-Estonian Charles Dickens" and is often compared to Margaret Atwood. She actively participates in public debates in Finland and frequently comments on current issues through her columns and talk shows.
