Michael Greger is an American physician, author, and professional speaker on public health issues, particularly the benefits of a whole food, plant-based diet and the harms of eating animal products. He is a creator of NutritionFacts.org, a non-profit organization providing free daily videos and articles on the latest in nutrition research. Greger has authored several books on nutrition and health, including the bestseller How Not to Die. He often travels for lectures and is a frequent guest on talk shows and podcasts.
Greger's interest in medicine stemmed from his grandmother's recovery from heart disease through lifestyle changes recommended by Nathan Pritikin, a pioneer in lifestyle medicine. He attended Cornell University for his undergraduate studies and received his medical degree from the Tufts University School of Medicine. Greger is also a founding member and Fellow of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
