Linda S. Howington, known by her pseudonym Linda Howard, is a renowned American author famous for her best-selling romance and suspense novels. Born on August 3, 1950, in Alabama, USA, she began writing stories for her own enjoyment for 21 years before submitting a novel for publication, which led to significant success.

Her first published work appeared in 1982 through Silhouette. Over her career, she has published more than 50 novels, 35 of which have been translated into Spanish. Linda Howard is also a charter member of the Romance Writers of America. In 2005, she was honored with the Career Achievement Award by the organization.

Linda resides in Gadsden, Alabama, with her husband, Gary F. Howington, and their two golden retrievers. She has three grown stepchildren and three grandchildren.
