Leonard Mlodinow is an American theoretical physicist, mathematician, screenwriter, and author. Known for his contributions in physics, particularly the large N expansion, he has made significant strides in approximating the spectrum of atoms based on infinite-dimensional versions of problems. His work extends to the quantum theory of light inside dielectrics.
Mlodinow has authored several books for the general public, with five achieving New York Times best-seller status. Noteworthy books include The Drunkard's Walk: How Randomness Rules Our Lives, recognized as a New York Times notable book and short-listed for the Royal Society Science Book Prize; The Grand Design, co-authored with Stephen Hawking, a book discussing the origins of the universe without invoking God; War of the Worldviews, co-authored with Deepak Chopra; and Subliminal: How Your Unconscious Mind Rules Your Behavior, which won the 2013 PEN/E. O. Wilson Literary Science Writing Award.
In addition to his writing, Mlodinow engages in public lectures and media appearances, having featured on programs such as Morning Joe and Through the Wormhole. He has also debated Deepak Chopra on ABC's Nightline.
