Jon "Jo" Nesbø is a prominent Norwegian writer, musician, and former football player and reporter. Born on 29th March 1960, he has emerged as the most successful Norwegian author of all time, with more than 50 million copies of his novels sold worldwide by 2021. His literary works have been translated into over 50 languages, highlighting his global appeal.
Nesbø is best known for his gripping crime novels featuring Inspector Harry Hole, enchanting readers with intricate plots and deep character development. Besides his literary success, he showcases his versatility as the main vocalist and songwriter for the Norwegian rock band Di Derre. In 2007, he ventured into children's literature, releasing his first book, Doktor Proktors Prompepulver (English translation: Doctor Proctor's Fart Powder).
