Jack Canfield is an American author and motivational speaker, best known as the co-author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, which has more than 250 titles and 500 million copies in print in over 40 languages. In 2005, he co-authored The Success Principles: How to Get From Where You Are to Where You Want to Be with Janet Switzer.
Canfield received a BA in Chinese History from Harvard University and a Master's from the University of Massachusetts. He has worked as a teacher, workshop facilitator, and psychotherapist. As the founder of "Self Esteem Seminars" in Santa Barbara and "The Foundation for Self Esteem" in Culver City, California, he has made significant contributions to personal development.
He was named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Americans (TOYA) by the Jaycees in 1978 and holds the Guinness World Record for having seven books simultaneously on the New York Times bestseller list.
