Hélène Cardona is a poet, literary translator, and actor, known for her award-winning bilingual poetry collections and diverse achievements in translation and acting. She is the author of Life in Suspension and Dreaming My Animal Selves, among other works. Cardona has won numerous accolades including the Albertine & FACE Foundation Grant, Hemingway Grant, and the Independent Press Award.
Born in Paris to a Greek mother and Spanish father, she was raised across Europe, becoming fluent in six languages. She studied at esteemed institutions including Cambridge University and the Sorbonne, where she completed an MA in American Literature focusing on Henry James.
Her acting credits span from Chocolat and The Hundred-Foot Journey to voice roles in Star Trek: Discovery and Starfield: Shattered Space. Hélène Cardona has also worked extensively as a translator and educator, notably translating works of Rimbaud, Baudelaire, and others into English.
