Elliot Page, previously known as Ellen Page, is a celebrated Canadian actor, producer, and activist. Page's early career was marked by his roles in the television franchise Pit Pony, Trailer Park Boys, and ReGenesis. He gained widespread recognition and critical acclaim for the title role of a pregnant teenager in the film Juno (2007), directed by Jason Reitman. This performance earned Page an Academy Award nomination, two BAFTA Award nominations, a Golden Globe Award nomination, and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination, making him the fourth-youngest nominee for the Academy Award Best Actress at the time.
Page's diverse filmography includes Hard Candy (2005), Whip It (2009), Super (2010), Inception (2010), Tallulah (2016), and the role of superhero Kitty Pryde in the X-Men films The Last Stand (2006) and Days of Future Past (2014). He also produced and starred in Freeheld (2015), directed There's Something in the Water (2019), and lent his voice to the video game Beyond: Two Souls (2013). Page co-hosted the Viceland documentary series Gaycation, earning two Primetime Emmy Award nominations, and portrays Vanya/Viktor Hargreeves in the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy.
As an outspoken advocate, Page is involved in numerous social issues. He has been a pro-choice feminist, supported the Me Too movement, advocated for abortion rights, called for an end to military dictatorship in Myanmar, and practices veganism. Page's activism extends to LGBTQ rights, particularly for the trans community. In December 2020, Page came out as transgender and gender-nonbinary, preferring to be known as Elliot and to use he/they pronouns. In 2021, Page made history as the first openly trans man on the cover of Time magazine. His debut book Pageboy was published in June 2023.
