Christopher Frank

Christopher Frank was a British-born French writer, screenwriter, and film director.

He was born on December 5, 1942, in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, UK, and passed away on November 20, 1993, in Paris, France.

Frank gained recognition for his work in literature and film, with notable achievements including winning the prestigious Prix Renaudot in 1972 for his novel La Nuit américaine. This novel served as the basis for Andrzej Zulawski's film That Most Important Thing: Love.

Before establishing himself as a writer and director, Frank worked at the Royal Court Theatre in London as a photographer and translator. His literary career took off with his first novel Mortelle (translated as Mortel).
