Ben Karlin

Benjamin Miles Karlin is an American television producer and writer born around 1971. He is renowned for his significant contributions to television, notably as a creative force behind The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report. As one of the three co-creators of The Colbert Report, along with Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart, Karlin has left a lasting impact on satire and comedy television.

Throughout his career, Karlin has been honored with eight Emmy Awards, showcasing his excellence in the television industry. He parted ways with Comedy Central in December 2006 but continued to make his mark as a writer for popular shows such as Modern Family.

In addition to his television work, Karlin was selected to write, produce, and serve as the showrunner for a new TV series within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, titled Marvel's Damage Control. Based on the Marvel Comics' team of the same name, the series was ordered by ABC Network for consideration in 2017, although it was not picked up.

Karlin has also ventured into writing with his book, Things I've Learned From Women Who've Dumped Me, released in February 2008. This collection of essays features contributions from notable writers and comedians such as Andy Richter, Will Forte, David Wain, Stephen Colbert, Patton Oswalt, and Bob Odenkirk. Furthermore, he co-edited America (The Book) alongside Jon Stewart and David Javerbaum. During the early stages of his career, between 1993 and 1996, he wrote for Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and The Onion.
