Jo, Bessie and Fanny move to the country and find an Enchanted Wood right on their doorstep. In the magic Faraway Tree live the magical characters that soon become their new friends – Moon-Face, Silky the fairy, and Saucepan Man.

Together they visit the strange lands (the Roundabout Land, the Land of Ice and Snow, Toyland and the Land of Take What You Want) atop the tree and have the most exciting adventures – and narrow escapes.

In the middle of the wood grows the most wonderful tree in the world - The Faraway Tree, with its top-most branches touching the clouds, magical fruit, the exciting Slippery-Slip, and cosy houses set in its vast trunk. The children soon explore the tree, meeting the strange people who live there, including Moon-Face, Silky the pixie and Dame Washalot, and have amazing adventures in the lands that come and go at the top - the Land of Ice and Snow, the Land of the Three Bears, and everyone's favourite - the Land of Take-What-You-Want!

Pulled down from the clouds at the end of a kite string, Mary Poppins is back. In Mary’s care, the Banks children meet the King of the Castle and the Dirty Rascal, visit the upside-down world of Mr. Turvy and his bride, Miss Topsy, and spend a breathless afternoon above the park, dangling from a clutch of balloons.

"A land at the top of a tree!" said Connie. "I don't believe a word of it."

Jo, Bessie, and Fanny are fed up when Connie comes to stay - she's so stuck-up and bossy. But they don't let her stop them from having fun with their tree-friends, Silky, Moon-Face, and the Saucepan Man.

Together, they climb through the cloud at the top of the Faraway Tree and visit the wonderful places there, the Land of Secrets and the Land of Treats - and Connie learns to behave herself!

Pauline, Petrova, and Posy are orphans determined to help out their family by attending the Children's Academy of Dancing and Stage Training. But when they vow to make a name for themselves, they have no idea it's going to be such hard work!

They launch themselves into the world of show business, complete with working papers, the glare of the spotlight, and practice, practice, practice!
