Wendelin Van Draanen

Wendelin Van Draanen is a celebrated American writer known for her contributions to children's and young-adult fiction. With over thirty novels to her name, she has captured the imaginations of young readers and teens worldwide.

Van Draanen is the creator of the 18-book Edgar-winning Sammy Keyes series and authored Flipped, a novel recognized as a Top 100 Children’s Novel for the 21st Century by SLJ. This book was also adapted into a Warner Brothers feature film directed by Rob Reiner.

Another notable work is The Running Dream, which was honored with ALA’s Schneider Family Award for its insightful portrayal of the disability experience.
