Veronica Anne Roth is an American novelist and short story writer, best known for her bestselling Divergent series, which includes Divergent, Insurgent, Allegiant, and Four: A Divergent Collection. The series has sold more than 35 million copies worldwide and was developed into three major motion pictures.

Born on August 19, 1988, Veronica grew up outside of Chicago and graduated from Northwestern University. She now resides in Chicago proper with her husband and dog, writing full-time.

In addition to the Divergent series, Roth is also the author of Carve the Mark, Arch-Conspirator, Poster Girl, Chosen Ones, and the short story collection The End and Other Beginnings.
