Tehmina Durrani is a renowned Pakistani author, artist, and a dedicated women's and children's rights activist. Born on 18 February 1953, she gained fame with her bestselling book My Feudal Lord, which challenged the conservative Pakistani society by exposing the political and personal life of her former husband, Mustafa Khar. She is also currently recognized as the spouse of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, since March 2024.
Her early life was influenced by her father, S.U. Durrani, a former Governor of State Bank of Pakistan and Managing Director of Pakistan International Airlines, and her grandfather, Nawab Sir Liaqat Hayat Khan, Prime Minister of Patiala state.
Beyond her literary achievements, Tehmina dedicated three transformative years serving Abdul Sattar Edhi, during which she authored her autobiography A Mirror to the Blind in 1996. This experience fueled her commitment to social work and led her to establish the 'Tehmina Durrani Foundation' aimed at promoting humanitarian values and social welfare in Pakistan.
