Simone St. James is a Canadian author known for her work in mystery, historical fiction, and romance novels. She lives outside of Toronto, Canada and had twenty years of experience in the television industry before dedicating herself to writing full-time.
St. James always had a passion for writing, crafting stories for fun before deciding to pursue publishing. Her inspiration to write her first book came from her desire for a creepy yet non-gory ghost story featuring romance. Unable to find such a book, she wrote it herself.
The themes in her novels frequently explore ghosts, crime, and investigations. Although she claims never to have seen a ghost herself, her books delve into the possibility and the intriguing "what if" moment.
St. James began her writing career with stories set in the 1920s and later explored different time periods, such as the 1950s. Her notable works include The Book of Cold Cases, The Sun Down Motel, The Broken Girls, and The Haunting of Maddy Clare, which received two RITA awards from Romance Writers of America and an Arthur Ellis Award from Crime Writers of Canada.
