Sean Dryden began working on the first book, Adventure-Pom!, in collaboration with Jerry, as a tribute to their friends who have started building their families. Inspired by going through pictures of Henry, Sean began contemplating the shelter from where they adopted him. Over recent years, the Berkeley Eastbay Humane Society faced significant challenges, including a devastating fire and the theft of their van, which hindered their efforts to relieve overpopulation in other shelters by facilitating adoptions.
The project took shape remarkably well, leading Sean and Jerry to decide to share it with other families and children, with the hope of aiding the shelter in the process. They look forward to releasing more books in the future.
