Rupert Thomson, FRSL is an English writer born on 5 November 1955. He is the author of thirteen critically acclaimed novels and an award-winning memoir. Throughout his life, Thomson has lived in various cities worldwide, including Athens, Berlin, New York, Sydney, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, and Rome. In 2010, after spending several years in Barcelona, he moved back to London.

Thomson has made significant contributions to several notable publications such as the Financial Times, the Guardian, the London Review of Books, Granta, and the Independent.
