Richard Wilhelm was a German translator, sinologist, theologian, and missionary. He is renowned for translating numerous philosophical works from Chinese into German, which have subsequently been translated into other major languages worldwide, including English. His translation of the I Ching remains acclaimed as one of the finest, as does his translation of The Secret of the Golden Flower, both featuring introductions by the Swiss psychologist Carl Jung, who was a personal friend.
