Born on December 21, 1965, in Butte, Montana, Patricia was influenced by her mother, a children's librarian, to develop a love for reading and books. Her early reading included fairy tales and books about horses, leading to an interest in folklore and history.

With degrees in history and German from Montana State University, Patricia worked as a substitute teacher before becoming a full-time writer. She currently resides in Montana with her husband, children, and six horses. Her dedication to writing continues to delight her fans.
