Octavio Paz

Octavio Paz Lozano was a renowned Mexican poet, writer, essayist, and diplomat. He was born on March 31, 1914, and passed away on April 19, 1998. Paz was a prolific author whose work encompassed various genres, most notably poetry, essays, and translations. He was a member of El Colegio Nacional and is celebrated as one of the greatest writers of the 20th century and one of the most distinguished Hispanic poets of all time.

In recognition of his literary contributions, Octavio Paz was honored with several prestigious awards, including the Jerusalem Prize in 1977, the Miguel de Cervantes Prize in 1981, the Neustadt International Prize for Literature in 1982, and most notably, the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1990.
