Nnedi Okorafor

Nnedi Okorafor, born Nnedimma Nkemdili Okorafor, is a renowned Nigerian-American writer of fantasy and science fiction for both children and adults. She is best known for her Binti Series and her novels Who Fears Death, Zahrah the Windseeker, Akata Witch, Akata Warrior, Lagoon, and Remote Control. Okorafor has also contributed to comics and film.

Her writing, which she describes as "Africanfuturism" and "Africanjujuism", is significantly influenced by her dual Nigerian and American heritage. Among her many accolades are the Hugo Award, Nebula Award, Eisner Award, and World Fantasy Award. In recognition of her contributions to science fiction, she was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame by the Museum of Pop Culture in 2024.
