Nelson DeMille

Nelson Richard DeMille was a renowned American author of action adventure and suspense novels. Born on August 23, 1943, he was a prolific writer whose works captivated readers for decades. His acclaimed novels include Plum Island, The Charm School, and The General's Daughter, which was adapted into a major motion picture starring John Travolta and Madeleine Stowe.

DeMille authored twenty-four novels, with seven reaching the #1 spot on the New York Times bestsellers list. Some of his other notable works include The Maze, The Cuban Affair, Word of Honor, and The Gold Coast. Alongside his son, Alex DeMille, he co-wrote The Deserter, Blood Lines, and The Tin Men.

In addition to his writing, DeMille was a combat-decorated U.S. Army veteran. He held memberships in organizations such as Mensa, Poets & Writers, and the Authors Guild, and served as a past president of the Mystery Writers of America. The International Thriller Writers honored him as the 2015 ThrillerMaster of the Year.

DeMille also wrote under the pen names Jack Cannon, Kurt Ladner, Ellen Kay, and Brad Matthews. He passed away on September 17, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of thrilling and unforgettable narratives.
