Natasha Wimmer is an American translator renowned for her contributions to the world of literature through her translations of eminent Chilean novelist Roberto Bolaño's works such as 2666 and The Savage Detectives from Spanish into English. Her linguistic journey began during her early years in Spain, where she embraced the Spanish language and culture.

Wimmer's academic pursuit of Spanish literature led her to Harvard University, where she deepened her understanding and appreciation of the Spanish-speaking world. Upon completing her education, Wimmer embarked on a career in publishing, initially joining Farrar, Straus & Giroux between 1996 and 1999. Her role as an assistant and later as a managing editor provided her with a robust foundation in the publishing industry.

Her foray into translation began with Dirty Havana Trilogy by Cuban novelist Pedro Juan Gutiérrez. Subsequently, Wimmer contributed to Publishers Weekly before dedicating herself full-time to the translation of Bolaño's demanding literary works.
