Murat Menteş

Murat Menteş is a Turkish author known for his literary works and contributions to Turkish literature. He was born in Istanbul and has a diverse background in various fields.

In his early years, he engaged in bicycle repair, learned small magic tricks, and developed an amateur interest in boxing. However, after enduring numerous punches, he decided to leave the boxing ring and began writing poetry.

Murat Menteş worked in magazines, publishing houses, and newspapers. His work Kaosa Mütevazı Bir Katkı (2001, Şûle Yayınları) discussed the disruptive and destructive effects of the media, while Aynalı Barikatlar (2003, Şûle Yayınları) addressed the infiltration of terrorism into everyday life.

He started writing poetry in high school, and his poems have been published in various literary magazines such as Yedi İklim, Şehrengiz, Dergâh, and Atlılar. His first book, Kuzgun'un Gölgesi (Poetry, Yedi İklim Yayınları), was published in the final days of 1996.

Murat Menteş is also known for his novels Dublörün Dilemması (2005) and Korkma Ben Varım (2009), both published by İletişim Yayınları.
