Michael A. Singer

Michael Alan "Mickey" Singer, also known as Michael A. Singer, is a renowned American author, journalist, motivational speaker, and former software developer. Born on May 6, 1947, Singer is celebrated for his insights into spirituality, meditation, and New Age philosophy. His notable works include The Untethered Soul (2007) and The Surrender Experiment (2015), both of which became New York Times bestsellers.

In 1975, Singer founded the Temple of the Universe, a yoga and meditation center in Alachua, Florida, dedicated to helping individuals from diverse beliefs experience inner peace.

Besides his literary achievements, Singer significantly contributed to the medical software industry, co-founding Medical Manager (now Greenway Health) in 1981. The company, which developed software for digitizing medical billing records, was acquired by WebMD in 2002 for approximately $5 billion. Singer continued to work at WebMD until 2005.

In 2010, Singer faced legal challenges related to securities fraud at WebMD, leading to a $2.5 million settlement.
