Matt Fraction

Matt Fraction, born Matt Fritchman on December 1, 1975, is an acclaimed comic book writer whose innovative storytelling and characterization have earned him an Eisner Award. He is widely recognized for his contributions to major titles such as The Invincible Iron Man, FF, The Immortal Iron Fist, Uncanny X-Men, and Hawkeye for Marvel Comics. Beyond his work with Marvel, Fraction has also made his mark with Casanova and the critically acclaimed Sex Criminals for Image Comics, as well as Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen for DC Comics.

Fraction's journey into comics began at an early age when, at seven years old, he created his own newspaper to explain the U.S. invasion of Grenada. His passion for storytelling was evident even then, combining both visuals and narrative to convey his message. Fraction's educational path took him to the Kansas City Art Institute in Missouri, but just shy of completing his art degree, he made a pivotal decision to leave academia and pursue a career as a Web designer and managing editor for a magazine covering Internet culture. This move led to the formation of MK12, a boutique graphic design and production firm based in Kansas City.

Despite his mother's initial reservations about his career choice, Fraction's work in the creative industry paved the way for a successful transition into the world of comics, where he continues to captivate audiences with his dynamic storytelling.
