Marjorie M. Liu is an American novelist, poet, comic book writer, and lawyer, renowned for her contributions to both literature and the comic book industry. A New York Times best-selling author, Liu has garnered acclaim for her horror fantasy comic series Monstress, as well as her paranormal romance and urban fantasy novels, including the Hunter Kiss and Tiger Eye series. Her remarkable work with Marvel Comics spans titles such as NYX, X-23, Dark Wolverine, and Astonishing X-Men, with her contributions to the latter receiving recognition for the portrayal of the gay wedding of X-Man Northstar and a nomination for a GLAAD Media Award.
Liu's Monstress, which she co-created with Japanese artist Sana Takeda and published by Image Comics, has won multiple Hugo Awards, British Fantasy Awards, and a Harvey Award. It has also earned her five Eisner Awards, marking her as the first woman and woman of color to win an Eisner in the Best Writer category.
