Marina Dyachenko

Marina Dyachenko, born on January 23, 1968, is a renowned Ukrainian author known for her collaboration with her spouse, Serhiy Dyachenko. Together, they have co-authored numerous novels, short fiction, plays, and scripts, primarily in the genres of modern speculative fiction, fantasy, and literary tales. Their works have been published in both Russian and Ukrainian, with several novels translated into English and published in the United States.

Some of their acclaimed works include Vita Nostra (2012), The Scar (2012), The Burned Tower (2012), Age of Witches (2014), and Daughter from the Dark (2020). Their debut novel, The Gate-Keeper, was published in 1994 and received the "Crystal Table" prize. The novel was followed by others in the "Wanderers" tetralogy such as The Scar (1997) which won the "Sword in the Stone" award.

Marina and Serhiy Dyachenko have been recognized as leading figures in European science fiction, receiving numerous awards for their contributions, such as the Aelita Award in 2001. Their work is characterized by a unique blend of psychological and fantastic fiction, often delving into themes of mythology and magic realism.
