Malika Oufkir

Malika Oufkir is a renowned Moroccan Berber writer and a former victim of enforced disappearance. She was born on April 2, 1953, and is the daughter of General Mohamed Oufkir. Malika is also a cousin of the Moroccan writer and actress Leila Shenna.

Her life story, particularly her experience of disappearance and later freedom, has been a source of inspiration and subject for her literary works, including the notable book, Freedom: The Story of My Second Life.
