Margaret "Maggie" Stiefvater (pronounced STEE-vah-tər; née Hummel) is an American writer of young adult fiction, born on November 18, 1981. She is renowned for her fantasy series The Wolves of Mercy Falls and The Raven Cycle. Known for her ability to weave intricate narratives, she has captured the hearts of readers worldwide.
Aside from writing, Maggie is a talented artist and a musician. She plays several musical instruments, most famously the bagpipes, and creates art in various media, predominantly with colored pencils.
Maggie resides in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with her husband, two children, many dogs, a group of fainting goats, and a pair of growly tuner cars.
