Lauren Weisberger (born March 28, 1977) is an American writer renowned for penning the 2003 bestseller The Devil Wears Prada, a roman à clef recounting her stint as an aide to Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Prior to the fame brought by this novel, Weisberger had been associated with the realms of Vogue and Departures magazines, contributing as a writer and editor. The journey from her firsthand experiences to the shelves was monumental, as The Devil Wears Prada transcended the pages to become a celebrated film in 2006, with a cast led by Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.
Weisberger's narrative prowess didn't halt with just one novel. She has since unfurled an array of novels, including notable titles such as When Life Gives You Lululemons, The Singles Game, Revenge Wears Prada, Last Night at Chateau Marmont, Chasing Harry Winston, Everyone Worth Knowing, and, of course, the novel that kickstarted her writing career, The Devil Wears Prada. Most of Weisberger's works have ascended to the top five bestsellers, underscoring her ability to capture and entertain the masses. Her first novel alone has been localized in forty languages and inspired a major motion picture, with further adaptations, including a stage version by Elton John and Paul Rudnick, in the works. To date, Weisberger's books have reached over thirteen million readers worldwide.
A Cornell University alumnus, Weisberger resides in Connecticut with her husband and two children. Her latest publication, WHERE THE GRASS IS GREEN AND THE GIRLS ARE PRETTY, made its debut on May 18, 2021.
