Lani Woodland became an avid reader in elementary school, discovering her love for books through the Babysitters Club and Sweet Valley Twins series. In sixth grade, she started writing plays, enlisting her friends to perform them, often drawing inspiration from She-Ra, who represented ultimate girl power to her younger self.
Lani finds it difficult to enjoy any book that lacks at least a hint of romance. She resides in Southern California with her husband, their two children, and an extensive collection of board games. Her diverse career has included roles as a spot-welder, babysitter, janitor, photographer, gymnastics coach, and movie extra.
Among her favorite activities are bonfires at the beach, dining at hole-in-the-wall restaurants, speed talking, and savoring chocolate as a panacea. She has a particular fondness for the word "precisely."
