Louis A. Meyer, writing under the name L.A. Meyer, was a celebrated Maine author, best known for his captivating young-adult historical series The Jacky Faber Adventures, also referred to as the Bloody Jack series. His literary prowess was not limited to young adult fiction; Meyer also penned two enchanting children's picture books and expressed his creativity through painting.
Meyer's life was enriched by the arts in more ways than one. Alongside his wife, he owned and operated an art gallery named Clair de Loon located in Bar Harbor. His contributions to literature and the arts left an indelible mark on the world. Meyer's journey came to an end on July 29, 2014, after a battle with refractory Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. His final contribution to the Jacky Faber series, Wild Rover No More, was published posthumously in September of the same year, leaving a lasting legacy.
