Kyle is a freelance journalist for publications including NYT Magazine, Bloomberg Businessweek, The New Republic, and others. His book, THE LONGING FOR LESS, about the history of minimalism, was published by Bloomsbury in 2020.

He also co-founded the freelance journalist collective and media company Study Hall: studyhall.xyz.
