Kristen Simmons

Kristen Simmons is a critically-acclaimed young adult author known for her diverse range of novels. Her debut novel, Article 5, is a dystopian fiction set in an America controlled by the 'Moral Militia.' This book was the first in a successful trilogy, followed by Breaking Point and Three.

Her other notable works include the The Deceivers series, speculative fiction stand-alones such as Pacifica, Metaltown, and The Glass Arrow. Additionally, she has co-written the magic-wielding, gladiator fantasy series Set Fire to the Gods and Rise Up from the Embers, as well as creating the yōkai horror series, Find Him Where You Left Him Dead.

In the adult thriller genre, Kristen has penned the spicy The Masseuse Series and The Talent Trilogy for mature audiences. Her works have received starred reviews, librarian recognitions, and nominations for prestigious awards such as the Edgar Award and Anthony Award for best young adult mystery.

Her stories are included in junior high and high school reading curricula, often used in programs for reluctant readers. Kristen draws inspiration for her writing from her professional experience as a mental health therapist working with trauma survivors.

Currently, Kristen resides in Cincinnati, Ohio with her husband, son, and a small pack of semi-wild dogs. Besides writing, she enjoys teaching Jazzercise and has a fondness for terrible jokes, Marching bands, and The Great British Bake-Off.
