Kevin Brockmeier

Kevin John Brockmeier is an American writer known for his works in fantasy and literary fiction. Born on December 6, 1972, Brockmeier has captivated audiences with his imaginative storytelling. His most celebrated work is The Brief History of the Dead, published in 2006.

Born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, Brockmeier honed his writing skills and earned his MFA from the Iowa Writer's Workshop in 1997. His stories have been featured in prominent publications such as The New Yorker, McSweeney's, Crazyhorse, and The Georgia Review. Over his career, he has been awarded the O. Henry Award, the Nelson Algren Award, and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
