Kathrine Kressmann Taylor

Kathrine Kressmann Taylor, born as Kathrine Kressmann on August 19, 1903, in Portland, Oregon, was a renowned American writer. She gained fame for her short story "Address Unknown" (1938), which was written as a series of letters between a Jewish art dealer in San Francisco and his business partner in Germany. This work is credited with early exposure of the dangers of Nazism to the American public.

She married Elliott Taylor in 1928 and adopted the pseudonym Kressmann Taylor for her professional work, as her editor and husband believed the story was "too strong to appear under the name of a woman." She continued using this name throughout her career.
