Katharine Burdekin

Katharine Penelope Burdekin (née Cade, 23 July 1896 – 10 August 1963) was a British novelist renowned for her speculative fiction, which often delved into social and spiritual matters. She was the younger sister of Rowena Cade, the creator of the Minack Theatre in Cornwall. Her works have frequently been classified as feminist utopian/dystopian fiction.

Burdekin published her writings under various names, including Kay Burdekin and the pseudonym Murray Constantine. The true identity behind "Murray Constantine" was unveiled by Daphne Patai during her research into utopian and dystopian fiction in the mid-1980s.
