Kate O'Hearn

Kate O'Hearn is a Canadian children's fantasy writer, best known for her series such as Pegasus, Titans and Valkyrie. She began her literary career with the publication of her first book, Shadow of the Dragon: Kira, in 2008, which subsequently led to a successful book series.

Kate was born in Toronto, Canada, but grew up in New York City. Throughout her life, she has lived in several places including Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and various small towns. Currently, she resides on the south coast of England.

Being the only girl among three brothers, Kate grew up as a true tomboy and always relished books of high adventure. Noticing a lack of female leads in such adventure books, she dedicated herself to writing high fantasy adventures featuring strong, compassionate, and dynamic female protagonists.

Her experiences from living in diverse cities and her travels across the United States fueled her imagination, inspiring her to create stories set in wondrous lands with compelling characters. Kate is passionate about animals and their causes, often integrating her interests into her narratives.

Aside from writing, she has held several careers throughout her life but found her true passion in writing children's books. Through her works, she strives to share the joy of storytelling and to convey messages of unity, adventure, and familial bonds amidst thrilling escapades.
