Karin Slaughter, born January 6, 1971, is an acclaimed American crime writer. She has penned 24 novels, which have collectively sold over 40 million copies worldwide and have been published in 120 countries. Her debut novel, Blindsighted (2001), was released in 27 languages and was shortlisted for the Crime Writers' Association's Dagger Award for "Best Thriller Debut" of 2001. She clinched the 2015 CWA Ian Fleming Steel Dagger award for her novel Cop Town. Slaughter's 2018 novel, Pieces of Her, was transformed into an eight-episode television series on Netflix in March 2022.
