Junot D t is a Dominican-American writer, renown for his vivid portrayal of the immigrant experience, particularly within the Latino community. Born on December 31, 1968, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, D t moved with his family to New Jersey at the age of six. His academic journey led him to Rutgers University where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. He later received his MFA from Cornell University.
D t's literary career took off with his first book, the 1995 short story collection Drown. His seminal work, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, granted him the prestigious 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. D t's accolades don't end there; he has also been honored with a MacArthur Fellowship "Genius Grant" in 2012, among various other awards.
Beyond his writing, D t is a dedicated educator, serving as a creative writing professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
